6.2.4.2 Construction Period
• In the Latter of Acceptance (LA), the construction period must
be clearly mentioned. The construction period can be chosen
in days, weeks, or months, depending on what is most
convenient.
• In LA, the possession and completion dates of the site must
be indicated properly. It must be computed based on the
contractor's acceptance of the construction period during the
tender process.
• The duration of a construction project, often known as the
construction period, is a critical aspect in its execution and
completion. It is impossible to accomplish a project within the
agreed-upon time frame without proper planning.
• Workmen/employees must be monitored to ensure that the
work is finished within the specified time frame. This is to verify
that workers/employees complete the tasks allocated to them
in accordance with the number of hours worked per day and
the wages paid.
• The Superintending Officer (S.O.) is responsible for monitoring
the progress of the Contractor's work and, if necessary,
granting an Extension of Time, imposing Liquidate Ascertained
Damages (LAD), and/or recommending the termination of the
Contractor's employment to the officer authorized to represent
the Government in accordance with the Contract's provisions.
