ABSTRACT

This book is primarily intended for quantity surveying students enrolled in
polytechnic diploma programme and those preparing for the Quantity

Surveyors exams. Much of the content in this book will be useful and
relevant to anyone who works in quantity surveying or similar fields. Many

different areas of quantity surveying practice are examined and presented,
with supporting examples added in which they were believed to be

incredibly beneficial to the student. The goal is to teach students essential

skills that will help them improve their quantity surveying theory and prepare
them for professional practice once they graduate from polytechnic. The

pre-contract stage and comprehending the quantity surveying profession
are the emphasis of this book. Students will learn about quantity surveying

and the various professional organizations that are involved, as well as the
pre-contract stage of the construction process. Every aspect of the pre-

contract stage will be discussed, beginning with the project stages, the

construction team, and each team member's responsibilities. Procurement
methods, tendering procedures, tender documents, tender reports, and

tender acceptance are all covered in this book. This book is designed to

give polytechnic students their first introduction to the field of quantity
surveying and can be utilized by the lecturer to teach students engaged in

the field of quantity surveying.
