From the velocity-time graph:
Gradient = Acceleration / decelaration.
The area under the graph = distance traveled.
Example 1

A car starts from rest with a constant acceleration of 0.6 ms until it reaches a speed of 9.8 ms .
Then the car is moving at a constant velocity of 2.7 km before decelaration with uniforms for 20
seconds before it stops again. Calculate:
i. Total distance traveled.
ii. The total time taken.
Solution:
Suppose: The distance traveled, sT.
Distance during acceleration, s1.
Distance during uniform velocity, s2 = 2700 m.
Distance during decelaration, S3.
s = s + s + s
