6.4.3 Water Strorage Efficiency

It is the ratio of the water stored in the crop root zone during irrigation to water
needed in the root zone prior to irrigation.

It is expressed as below:

Ƞ = Water stored in root zone / (Field capacity – Available moisture)

Water Use Efficiency

It is the ratio of the water put to beneficial use (it may include water used for
leaching of soil in some cases) to the water delivered both measured in same
unit.
