The Malaysian Board of Quantity Surveyors was founded in 1967

under the Professional Registration Act, which governs the

registration of Quantity Surveyors. The Act mandates that every
QS who has completed their training as a QS register with the

Malaysian Board of Quantity Surveyors. This is to ensure that each

is protected from any professional malpractice. While RISM's
mission is to improve professional practice and ethics, promote

member welfare and professional development, and remain

relevant and useful to the public, it also has other goals.

RISM to register as a registered quantity surveyor (professional
