INTRODUCTION
o Quantity surveyors are highly trained professional that provide
expert advice on construction projects. Life cycle costing (LCC),
cost planning, procurement and tendering processes, contract
administration, and financial management all rely on them.
o To provide cost and financial guidance, a professional quantity
surveyor has a thorough understanding of construction and
construction procedures, as well as the regulations governing
construction projects and accounting.
o In today's construction business, quantity surveyors do a technical
analyses of cost components of a construction project and apply
the findings to a variety of financial and economic issues that
developers and designers face. Competence, in any domain of
work, can be a challenging term to define, especially when it
comes to professional vocations involving varied professionals in
the built environment sector.

structure as well as the legal contract and terms under which the
building will be built.
