o Quantity surveyors also advise the architect and engineer on the
cost implications on behalf of the client. This includes the various
construction methods, materials available, as well as the project's
size and quality. This also ensures that each component is
reconciled with the cost plan allocation and that the entire project
cost is kept within budget.
o Quantity Surveyors with these skills will be well-equipped to play
a key managerial role throughout the course of a project's
development. They can examine the effects of changes in design,
site circumstances, and working arrangements, for example, and
provide realistic budget and time estimates to the client.
o Private practice, government sectors, educational institutions,
construction companies, property developers, banks and financial
institutions, industrial companies, and other commercial
companies are all places where quantity surveyors may work.
Their professional abilities are highly valued, and they frequently
promote to top management positions.
