3.4.2.3 Turnkey

• The word Turnkey signifies “Handing over the keys to the

employer when completing a project completely”.

• A turnkey contract is described as “where the customer

(building owner) works/contracts with someone (turnkey
contractor) to execute the project on schedule and at a

specified price after meeting his requirements.”

• Until the project is suggested to be fully completed (Hand

Over), the client handed over the responsibility for finishing the

project to contractors to design, complete, and finance
expenses construction.

• Design and build contract is a project that will be constructed
by an appointed company that is responsible for designing and

constructing the project according to the client's specifications.
Once the project or building is completed, it will be handed

over to the client for the action of equipping it with the
necessary equipment and fittings.

• Turnkey contracts, on the other hand, entail an assigned
company designing, building, and finalizing equipment and

fittings before handing them over to the client. The project

structure is illustrated by Figure 3.2 below.
