3. Specialty Product
A consumer product with distinct attributes or brand recognition for which a large
number of purchasers are willing to go to great lengths to purchase.
Specific automobile brands, high-priced photography equipment, fashionable clothing,
gourmet meals, and medical or legal services, for example.
Specialty products are not compared by buyers.
They merely devote the time necessary to locate vendors who carry the desired products.
Quite pricey, with restricted distribution and strong brand devotion.

4. Unsought Product
A consumer product that the consumer is either unaware
of or is aware of but would not ordinarily consider
purchasing.
Much advertising, personal selling, and compelling
advertising are required.
Most big new ideas go unnoticed until they are
discovered by consumers.
