4.2.4 Pre-qualification Tender

• Contractors who indicate that they are competent and would

be interested in tendering for a possible project are identified
through pre-qualification.

• • Pre-qualification is typically used for large, complex projects
that necessitate specific technical knowledge.

• Before the invitation notice is advertised, the client submits a
pre-qualification tender to the contractor. Contractors that

receive this initial invitation must complete and deliver a pre-
qualification form to the client.

• The assessment is done in accordance with the client's
specifications. The objective is for the client to discover about

the contractor's capabilities, background, and previous
employment.
