Apart from panel hospitals, the insurer can also engage specialists to be in
their preferred panel as a means of providing services to their
policyholders to ensure costs are contained going forward.
In such a scenario, the appointed Third-Party Administrator (TPA) plays an
important role in the attempt to contain costs, by identifying inflated bills,
reviewing them and taking it up with the hospitals without compromising
equitable access to healthcare to the policyholder.
