6.2 Preparation of the Letter of Acceptance
❑ A letter of acceptance (LA) confirms the acceptance of an
offer based on the tender document's conditions as well as
any other contract-related conditions that have been agreed
upon.
❑ LA is an official letter from the Client confirming receipt of the
Contractor Tenderer's offer without conditions.
6.2.1 Importance of the Letter of Acceptance
i. Confirmation of the client's acceptance of the contractor's
offer. Acceptance occurs when the person to whom the offer
is made expresses assent to the offer involved, according
to Section 2 (b) of the Contracts Act 1950. When an offer is
accepted, it becomes a promise.
ii. Confirmation of the tender price that was agreed upon. The
government has agreed to accept the contractor's offer,
according to Letter Acceptance.
iii. Acceptance of the agreed-upon tender period. The
accepted tender period will be a timeframe by which the
contract's work must be completed.
iv. Confirmation of the possession of site date.
v. Confirmation of the amount of performance bond.
vi. Confirmation of insurances to be undertake by the
contractor.
vii. Reminder to the contractor of the conditions before
commencing work on the construction site
